The California Association of Winegrape Growers Foundation (CAWG Foundation) was created to honor the hard work of the men and women who help produce the highest quality winegrapes. As a non-profit public benefit corporation, the foundation was established to conduct education programs, fund scholarships and support research related to the California wine and winegrape industry. The CAWG Foundation is continuing the tradition of supporting the scholarship program with this exciting reception event. The reception will take place at the Sutter Club, and begin at 5:30 PM, with the judging taking place at 6:30 PM. The event will be paired with CAWG’s Day in the Capitol, with the goal to bring together legislators, other political officials and CAWG members to promote the accomplishments of the foundation and to raise money for the scholarship fund. This year’s event format will once again feature a VIP wine tasting competition where various political leaders will put their decision making to the test by judging a host of wines from across the state. The winning wines will be presented with an award and granted the honor of being considered the best wine as decided by California’s political elite. The reception will also include a silent auction and raffle, with outstanding food, great wine and excellent company, all to support a fantastic cause.
