This hotline allows current CAWG grower members the opportunity to call upon labor and employment law experts to clarify or answer your legal questions. Each CAWG grower member can contact the law office of Fisher Phillips, LLP and receive one free twenty-minute consultation per month.

LABOR & EMPLOYMENT LAW HOTLINE BASICS                                                                           

  • CAWG grower members are entitled to one complimentary 20-minute legal consultation per month.
  • The complimentary consultation will be limited to routine labor and employment advice and counsel.
  • To the extent additional time is needed, or if you wish to engage in any substantive document review, research, drafting of documents, or litigation, that additional time and service would be billed separately.

 

BEFORE THE CALL:                                                                                                                               

  • Fisher Phillips, LLP will do a CAWG membership check. Be sure that your membership is current and that you know the name in which your company's CAWG membership is under.
  • Organize your thoughts and clearly articulate your specific legal concern or issue you’d like to address.
  • To avoid potential conflict of interest problems, phrase your question(s) without specifically naming a party (individual or company).
  • If you have several questions, then list and ask them in the order of greatest priority.


THE CALL:                                                                                                                                                

  • When you are ready, call the CAWG Employment and Labor Law Hotline at (415) 490-9048.
  • Brandon Kahoush or Collin Cook will answer your call.
  • State your company name (as listed with CAWG).
  • Be prepared to provide a call-back number and email address.
  • Upon your first time using the advise line, an informal conflict check will be conducted in-house.
  • You will then be able to ask your questions. Remember to ask questions in order of greatest priority.
  • If advise matters are related to specific employees or competitors, a conflict of interest report will need to be run. Please allow up to 90 minutes for a return call.


NEED ADDITIONAL ADVICE PAST 20-MINUTES?                                                                               

In the event a question or issue is complicated or requires additional time:

  • Fisher Phillips, LLP will advise the CAWG member that the type of legal services they’re requesting exceeds the scope of the Hotline. They will then discuss the extent of work that would need to be performed in further detail.
  • If the grower decides that they would like to retain the assistance of Fisher Phillips, LLP, a discussion and estimated budget to perform the requested work will be presented.
