History of Foundation

California Wine Grape Growers Foundation is at work for all the people who make the wine industry a part of their lives.

As a non-profit public benefit corporation the foundation was established to conduct public education programs, fund scholarships and support research related to the California wine and winegrape industry.

Building Roads to the Future

Scholarships

The California Wine Grape Growers Foundation is continuing the scholarship program begun by the California Association of Winegrape Growers several years ago. Each year the Foundation awards a 4-year scholarship and four 2-year scholarships to senior high school students whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) are vineyard workers employed by a winegrape grower.

Over the years the scholarship program has enabled children of vineyard workers to go on to college. Most, if not all, may not have been able to continue their education past high school if not for the financial aid offered by these scholarships.

The Foundation is proud to be able to continue this program made possible through the donations of those in the California wine industry.

Research

By supporting the Foundation you will be investing in our state's fiuture -- its youth. The scholarship program was started as an expression of gratitude to the employees who help make the winegrape and wine community a special part of California culture.
